The Conman is a bird-headed man who wanders the streets of Shinano in a search for a quiet life, but his questionable life philosophy regularly brings him bad luck. This belief is what he calls "the art of lying", that is, the power of lies to change the world. His creed doesn't make him a good liar, but when one of his cons goes well, the Conman knows how to reap the results. However, lies often get him in trouble much bigger than any possible benefits.

The Conman doesn't have a stable residence in Shinano. He used to sleep on a bench at the local park until he won a big prize because of a con that went well. He bought a car with the money, and although he still stays at the park if it's close by, he sleeps in the car. We have yet to see if this victory of his is without consequences.

One day he saw Kurogami snap a utility pole in half with a strong punch. The scene was so spectacular that he became a big fan of her ever since. It's a one-sided admiration, because Kurogami doesn't know him (and we have reasons to believe Kurogami doesn't like bird-faced freaks).

The Conman and Shirogami know each other, but they didn't meet too long ago, since Shirogami only started coming to Shinano recently. Shirogami doesn't think him he's dangerous, so she's not very cautious around him.

Nobody knows whether the Conman really is a bird or if he just wears a mask. He doesn't lie to people he's close with.

Appearance

The Conman wears a Hawaiian shirt (usually pink and with floral patterns), white pants, and dark dress shoes. His most notorious feature is clearly his head covered in black feathers and featuring an ash-colored beak. His black eyes are like dots. He has no visible avian features from the neck down, as far as we know. He's fair-skinned.
